The Craftsman Collision story began in 1977 by Bill Hatswell, an Australian who loved to ski in Canada and liked it here so much that he decided to stay. What he didn't like was the low standard of western Canada's collision repair industry back then. So he set out to do things better in his first auto body shop in the heart of Vancouver, BC – starting with crisp, clean staff uniforms, friendly receptionists, courtesy cars, replacement vehicles, and new standards of quality and accountability. Craftsman Collision's industry leadership is what continues to set us apart today.

 

Bill still drives growth with an active role at Craftsman, and we are by far the largest family owned bodyshop chain in North America, with 38 locations and counting. No other shops have surpassed our high standards.

 

Fast forward to 2014 and our first collision repair center in Long Beach, California we're growing again. As long as more drivers keep coming to Craftsman, we'll keep growing to meet the demand.
